'Download' the Firmware

NOTE: If you're having issues downloading the Firmware from the Website, try right-click and "Save Target As" or try another Internet Browser.


How to 'Update' the Firmware (via USB)


Step 1: Download the Zip File

  • Please download the Zip File linked above, and follow the instructions below to update your S8200.
  • Once downloaded, extract the contents of the Zip File directly onto a USB Flash Drive.
  • Insert the USB Flash Drive into the USB Port on the S8200.


Step 2: Open the Menu

  • Press the MENU button on the Remote Control.
  • Select SW Upgrade → Manual Update.
  • Use the ◀ ▶ ▼ ▲ buttons on the Remote to navigate the Menu.



Step 3: Update the Firmware

  • Select Upgrade Mode: USB, press OK.
  • Enter the PIN (Default PIN is 0000), when prompted for the Password.



Step 4: Update Complete

  • The S8200 will search the connected USB Flash Drive, and begin updating the Firmware, if found.
  • Once the Firmware Update has completed, the S8200 will reboot, and return to Live TV.
  • Remove the USB Flash Drive.



NOTE: If you get "No new Software available on USB", the S8200 has been unable to detect the file on your USB Flash Drive. Ensure you extract the contents of the Zip File, the Software Update is NOT the Zip File.


How to 'Update' the Firmware (via Network)


Step 1: Connect to the Network

  • Connect an Ethernet Cable from the Router to the S8200, or connect via Wi-Fi.
  • Press the MENU button on the Remote Control.
  • Select Installation → Network Setup.
  • Press the GREEN button on the Remote to toggle between Ethernet and W-Fi.



Step 2: Open the Menu

  • Press the MENU button on the Remote Control.
  • Select SW Upgrade → Manual Update.
  • Use the ◀ ▶ ▼ ▲ buttons on the Remote to navigate the Menu.



Step 3: Update the Firmware

  • Select Upgrade Mode: Network, press OK.
  • Enter the PIN (Default PIN is 0000), when prompted for the Password.



Step 4: Update Complete

  • The S8200 will perform a Software Search on the Network, and begin updating the Firmware, if found.
  • Once the Firmware Update has completed, the S8200 will reboot, and return to Live TV.



NOTE: Upon connecting to the Network in Step 1, the S8200 may immediately see the Software Update, where the S8200 will skip Step 2 and Step 3.
